The rise in morbidity in Corona continues:

Yesterday (Sunday) 3,508 carriers were identified in Israel, which is 4.9% out of 71,607 new tests.

The number verified today until 17:42 - 3,690.

68,741 new tests were performed, so the positive rate is 5.4.

There are 36,888 active patients in Israel.

The hospitals hospitalize 1,019 people, of whom 195 are in moderate condition, 602 in critical condition (189 of them in critical condition) and 147 respirators.

The number of staff members who are in isolation or found to be verified - 3,228, of whom 436 are doctors, 851 are nurses and 1,941 are in other professions.

The increase in this rate reduces the number of efficient and available manpower in hospitals.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein visited the United Vaccine Center in Sderot earlier.

In his statement, he referred to the vaccination campaign, and to the closure that Israel entered yesterday.

"We are working at a crazy pace and approaching half a million vaccinators in the State of Israel. There will be no shortage of vaccines. In the next two months, shipments with millions of vaccines are expected to reach us, and we are trying to get more vaccine doses ahead of time," Edelstein said.

"In the meantime, priority must be given to the populations at risk. I hope we can finish vaccinating it all in the coming weeks."

The health minister commented on the closure, saying hopefully: "Once the population at risk is safer, we can treat the virus completely differently. We can confront the virus. From this closure we can come out differently. We will continue the vaccination campaign at the same time as opening the economy."
