She was the one who took care of the first seriously ill corona patient in Italy at the end of February: Lucia Premoli, a nurse in a clinic in Codogno, around 70 kilometers south of Bergamo.
Now the nurse was one of the first in Italy to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Premolis colleagues also had the vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer administered.
On February 20, the anesthetist Annalisa Malara was the first doctor in Italy to diagnose Covid-19 based on the x-rays of the lungs of the first patient, who was only 38 years old.

The small town of Codogno was just the tip of the iceberg in Italy at the time.
A few days after the first Covid 19 diagnosis, a total of ten cities in Lombardy imposed curfews.
Too late, as we now know: the virus had already spread across Italy and Europe.
To date, the pandemic in Italy has killed more than 70,000 people;
more than 1.7 million people worldwide to date.
