Leah Aaronson, a resident of Ramat Gan who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, was the first to be vaccinated against the corona virus in Clalit's new vaccination complex, which was inaugurated today (Monday) at the paratrooper's home in the city.

Aaronson, born in 1920, is a mythological figure in Ramat Gan, who for many years ran the Janusz Korczak School in the city.

The mayor, Carmel Shama-Hacohen, accompanied her to the vaccination and at the same time gave her a bouquet of flowers and a certificate awarded to residents over the age of 100.

The director of Dan Clalit, Dr. Limor Drori-Harishno, was especially excited about the class, as Leah Aaronson is her maternal grandmother. "It is a very special class for me, where my professional work and personal life meet," she said. Immunization.

I was moved with her when she got vaccinated, and I was thrilled by the gesture made to her by city officials on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

"In general, we have set ourselves the goal of vaccinating the elderly who are dear to our hearts," she noted.

"Every day we are tutoring more and more vaccine centers, and I am happy to see the great responsiveness of the older public. The more adults are vaccinated at a rapid pace, the more we can all return to the blessed routine of life."

According to Shama-Hacohen, "together with Clalit Health Fund, we managed to run a vaccine center in the city, where we treated more than 1,000 residents a day. I was happy to accompany Leah Aaronson today. Give a personal shoulder for a few minutes - and win the corona together."

Meanwhile, Maccabi updated earlier today that the 100,000 vaccinated line has been crossed.

By the end of the day, more than 25,000 members of the fund are expected to be vaccinated.

So far, double appointments have been made for more than 240,000 members.

Yosef Cohen, 100, was also vaccinated today.

"I call on each of you to get vaccinated, because it is very important," he said.

"Take care of the older people in the family and go get vaccinated, because if you put it off it will be too late. Next month I will celebrate my 101st birthday, and taking the second vaccine dose will be a special birthday present."
