A series of remakes of old TV series are set to hit the screens in 2021 • Among the standout works: "Sex and the City," "American Treatment," "True Blood," "Dexter," "Walker" and "Beavis and Butthead."

  • The comeback will be without Samantha.

    "Sex and the City"

Last week the American media reported on an impending comeback of the series "Sex and the City", and this is another remake of a series of remakes that are in the works and are scheduled to come up during 2021.

"Sex and the City", starring Sarah Jessica Parker as New York bachelor Carrie Bradshaw , Aired for six seasons in the years 1998-2004.

She followed the love life of Carrie and her three friends: Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha.

In 2008, a feature film was released, which continued the experiences of the four.

The film was a huge commercial success, paving the way for a sequel released in 2010.

The second film received rave reviews, but still earned decent box office revenue.

Four years ago it was announced that a third film had already been written and was in the pipeline, but actress Kim Cattler (Samantha) announced that she would not be joining the project claiming she had completed this episode in her life.

The real reason for this became clear later: a bitter rivalry created between Cattral and Parker.

According to a New York Post report, the revamped project will not include Cattell but only the other three.

This is a mini-series that will take viewers back to the lives of the characters and to where they are today.

The project is intended for the streaming service HBO Max, from Warner Corporation, which is owned by the HBO cable channel (where the series was originally broadcast).

HBO is working hard on more remakes.

One of them is from the series "In Treatment", the American version of the Israeli series.

The American version aired for three seasons in 2010-2008 starring Gabriel Byrne (in the shoes of the late Asi Dayan) and Diane West (in the shoes of Gila Almagor).

She is set to return soon for a fourth season with a new cast, led by Emmy-winning actress Ozu Oduba ("Orange is the New Black") as the psychologist, replacing Gabriel Byrne.

Another remake that HBO is working on is the vampire drama "True Blood," which aired for seven seasons from

2014-2008.

The remake is in the early stages of production, and the one working on it is screenwriter Roberto Agir-Scasa ("Riverdale").

A comeback is also expected for serial killer Dexter, more than seven years after we broke up with the serial killer character played by Michael C.

Hall.

The series aired for eight seasons in 2013-2006, and its final episode created a big disappointment among fans.

Hall had already confirmed in October his return to the Dexter screen for a ten-episode season.

The season is in the production stages and is scheduled to air towards the end of 2021.

A remake that was announced a year and a half ago and encountered a prolonged delay due to the Corona is the sequel to "Gossip Girl," one of the most popular youth dramas of the 21st century.

The remake was scheduled to be filmed in New York last March, but then the virus broke out, and production was suspended.

The filming only started last month.

Chuck Norris fans have something to look forward to: In a month, a new version of the "Walker" series, the Texan cop played by the actor and martial artist, will be released.

The series ran for nine seasons in the 1990s.

In the remake, he will step into the shoes of Norris actor Jared Pedalki, who played the character of Dean in the "Gilmore Girls" series.

Two more illustrated cultural heroes from the nineties are also on their way back to the screen: "Beavis and Butthead."

The two heavy rock-loving boys starred in a cult series that ran for eight seasons on MTV.

In 1996, a movie was released that followed their exploits.

The remake will also be animated and intended for the Comedy Central channel.
