The future Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, received her first dose of vaccine against the coronavirus on Tuesday.

Harris had himself vaccinated live on the US TV program - and had apparently imagined it to be worse.

"That was easy!

I felt almost nothing. "

Harris had the Covid-19 vaccine from Moderna administered at the United Medical Center in Washington's predominantly black district of Anacostia.

Kamala Harris, US Vice President-elect

“I encourage everyone to get vaccinated.

It's relatively painless.

It goes very quickly.

It's safe with the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, I got the Moderna vaccine, my husband will get it today too.

I'm looking forward to the second dose.

And literally, this is about saving lives.

I trust the scientists and it is the scientists who developed and approved this vaccine. "

A week ago, President-elect Joe Biden had the first dose administered.

A second dose is necessary for maximum protection.

Biden wants to make the fight against the coronavirus epidemic a priority when he takes office on January 20.

More than 334,000 people have fallen victim to the pandemic in the United States - more than in any other country in the world.
