++ Covid: A.Latina and the Caribbean after Europe more than 500,000 dead

(ANSA) - MONTEVIDEO, DEC 29 - Latin America and the Caribbean have become the second largest region in the world after Europe to exceed half a million deaths from Covid-19, according to an AFP count based on official figures.

    Among the 29 countries in the region there were at least 500,800 deaths, more than half in Brazil (191,000) and Mexico (120,000).

   To hold the sad record of victims for Covid-19 is Europe (559,334) followed by Latin America and the Caribbean (500,818), United States and Canada (352,478) and Asia (217,224). (HANDLE).
