The world of music is in mourning for the departure of
Armando Manzanero
, who died at dawn on Monday, December 28, due to cardiac arrest after suffering complications from COVID-19.
With more than 50 years of experience and more than 400 songs written, the artist became one of the greatest composers in the history of music in Spanish.
Without a doubt, a star of his stature is deserving of a great tribute worthy of the mastermind behind the best romantic ballads, however, due to the situation derived from the coronavirus pandemic, the Manzanero family announced their decision to do not hold a public funeral until appropriate.
Through a statement, said information was confirmed, in addition to revealing that the remains of the Mexican interpreter would be cremated and rest in his homeland, Yucatán.
"No face-to-face funeral act will be held and the body will be cremated, this according to a mutually agreed decision between the family of the famous interpreter and composer," the letter reads.
However, the Government of Mexico announced that when the coronavirus pandemic allows it, a great tribute to the composer of 'Somos novios' will be held at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the farewell place of the greatest Mexican artists such as

"Maestro Manzanero deserves the highest honors. Through Channel 22, Radio Educación, the Fonoteca and Contigo en la Distancia we will do a tribute. When we can meet again, without a doubt, it will be at the Palacio de Bellas Artes to celebrate the work of the teacher Manzanero ", he stressed.
