Covid-19 in France: 388 deaths and 11,395 contaminations in 24 hours

Pending the intervention of the Minister of Health concerning new measures against the epidemic, there are 2,666 people in intensive care


This assessment comes at the dawn of new announcements from the executive, in order to stem a new epidemic of the coronavirus.

This Tuesday, the latest figures released by Public Health France just before the intervention of Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health on France 3, show 388 new deaths linked to the virus recorded in the space of 24 hours, against 364 on Monday.

Since the start of the epidemic, at least 44,272 people have died from the coronavirus in hospitals since the start of the epidemic.

A rising positivity rate

In the field of tests, Public Health France reports 11,395 contaminations recorded in the space of 24 hours.

The test positivity rate stands at 2?

9%, against 2.8% Monday and 2.9% already Sunday.

In hospitals, 24,743 patients remain in care after contracting the virus.

Some 1,627 new patients have been hospitalized since the day before.

Among the hospitalized patients, 2,666 patients suffer from severe forms of the disease which require care in the intensive care units, against 2,694 on Monday.

Over the past 24 hours, these specialized services have welcomed 251 new patients.
