The Covid takes a bolero icon, Armando Manzanero, to Mexico.
Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero, icon of the Latin American bolero, died Monday at the age of 86 as a result of Covid-19, announces Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador.
Born December 7, 1934 into an indigenous Mayan family, in the state of Yucatan (east), Armando Manzareno was a particularly prolific composer, well known in Latin America for his romantic ballads.
"His songs are an integral part of the sentimental education of Mexicans," writes Culture Minister Alejandra Frausto on Twitter.

The town hall of Rio de Janeiro, a Mecca for tourism in Brazil, announces the closure of access to beaches for the New Year in order to avoid gatherings in the midst of a pandemic.
The municipality has also banned all fireworks.
