On the way to tightening the closure?
Corona projector Prof. Nachman Ash said today (Wednesday) in an online meeting with local government spokesmen in Israel that "there is a big question mark over the effectiveness of the closure, in the coming days he will probably have to recommend aggravation."
Ash added that following the closure there is a decrease of about 20% in mobility but in relation to that in previous closures there was a decrease of 60%.
Ash also noted that there is a link between motility and the level of infection: "I am very concerned that in competition with the disease we will not be able to vaccinate enough," he said.
As for the heads of authorities who do not enforce the guidelines in the cities at their head they stand noted fire because they do not understand the severity of the situation.
He said in a conversation with the Minister of Health that the Minister said that if he saw an explicit statement by the head of the authority, he would come out against him because it was irresponsible.
Asked about the involvement of politicians in decision-making, Ash noted that "I have no doubt that the election campaign is putting more things into decision-making considerations. This is clear. My challenge is to convince politicians who make decisions. I am careful not to enter the political minefield."
Asked when it will be possible to hold mass events, Ash replied: "Until Independence Day it is realistic that it will be possible to hold limited mass events. By May I hope we will be able to vaccinate 60% -70% of the population and this gives a minimum herd vaccination."
