2021 will change even more.
The identity card, VAT and single-use plastic are also affected.
The year 2020 is coming to an end - so new rules and laws will come into force in the coming year.
The
changes in 2021
affect, among other things, child benefit, income tax and the minimum wage.
For new car owners, however, there are significant costs.
Kassel - The year of the
Corona * pandemic is drawing
to a close - the world is still in a state of emergency.
That goes hand in hand with a lot of new rules and laws.
Among other things, car owners, child benefits and the minimum wage are affected.
The most important changes for the coming year 2021 at a glance.
Parents in particular can be happy because the
child benefit
is topped up by 15 euros per month.
This means that families receive the following contributions:
For the first two children: 219 euros
For the third child: 225 euros
For the fourth child: 250 euros
Changes in 2021: Families will receive more child benefit in the future
The child allowance also increases to 8388 euros *.
As fr.de reports, the relief amount for single parents remains at 4008 - and will
not change
due to the
corona pandemic
.
The
changes
from
2021 also
affect the
solidarity surcharge
(solos).
For example, 90 percent of taxpayers have to pay less taxes because the 5.5 percent salary of income tax is no longer applicable.
Anyone with up to EUR 62,127 (married couples: EUR 124,254) taxable income no longer has to pay any solos.
The basic tax-free amount, however, increases by 336 euros to 9744 euros.
The amount remains tax-free up to this income, as Stiftung Warentest reports.
These changes can be expected in 2021 - CO2 tax
However, it will be more expensive for new
cars
with high fuel consumption and
CO2 emissions
.
In the future, owners of new cars that will be registered for the first time from January 2021 will have to pay twice as high a vehicle tax surcharge.
There is a new allowance per kilometer for low-emission cars with carbon dioxide emissions of up to 95 grams.
This amounts to 30 euros per year.
In order
to reduce overall
CO2
emissions
, there will be a
charge for
emissions from 2021
.
Then companies that sell heating oil, coal or gasoline, for example, have to buy a certificate for every ton of CO2.
As
Stiftung Warentest
explains, the emission of a ton then costs 25 euros.
Thereafter, the price increases annually in five-euro steps.
But households that use heating oil or have older gas heating systems must expect additional costs.
In return, the federal government promotes climate-friendly behavior, such as buying electric cars.

Pensioners can be happy about
these
changes
:
The
basic pension will come
into force
from
2021
.
People who have worked long hours but have only earned below average should be topped up with it.
Around 1.3 million people in Germany should benefit from it.
Hartz four rates will also rise monthly by 14 euros to 446 euros (single person) in the coming year.

receive a higher rate:
Community of needs: 401 euros
Children up to five years: 283 euros

From 2021: New changes relate to VAT
Due to the corona pandemic, VAT was reduced from 19 to 16 percent.
From 01.01.2021 the old regulations will apply again.
There are also innovations
for the use of
credit cards
.
If you want to pay with your card on the Internet, you have to “approve the payment using the 3D Secure process”.
This is to prevent third parties from accessing third-party credit cards and shopping unhindered.
From
2021
, card number, verification number and expiry date will no longer be sufficient.
Changes in 2021: New rules also affect identity cards
The cost of a new
ID card
increases - by 30 percent.
From the age of 24, the ID card costs a good eight euros more, i.e. 37 euros.
Anyone under the age of 24 still pays 22.80 euros.
In return, however, there should be no extra costs.
All old identity cards remain valid until their expiry date.
Another innovation: From August 1st, 2021, two fingerprints will be saved on the ID card *.
In terms of
protection of privacy
, there are
changes
for the year
2021
.
From January, secret photography under the skirt, so-called upskirting, and into the cleavage is a criminal offense.
More than 100,000 people have requested this with a petition.
Even gawkers who take photos of accident victims, for example, will not have an easy time of it in the coming year.
Anyone who takes unauthorized photos of a deceased person is committing a criminal offense.
The offenses can result in up to two years imprisonment or a fine.
These changes will take place in online gambling in 2021
In future, some will
change
the
online gambling
concern.
Online casino players are currently operating in a legal gray area, according to
Stiftung Warentest
.
That will change from
2021
, because online gambling will be legalized.
For this, providers, including those from abroad, need a license.
Overall, however, the advertising for such games of chance should be restricted.
In order to protect endangered players, a new central gambling authority of the federal states wants to set up a lock file.
In addition, players are only allowed to deposit 1000 euros per month into their player account instead of setting their own limits.

earned
the statutory
minimum wage
of 9.35 euros
so far
can be happy.
For the new year 2021 this will rise to 9.50 euros gross per hour.
At the beginning of July there will be a further increase to 9.60 euros.
The minimum wages are also increasing in these areas:
Electrical trade: 12.40 euros
Care industry (from April 1st, 2021): 11.50 (east) and 11.80 (west)
Numerous changes for 2021: single-use plastic banned in the future
Another
change
will affect
the
environment
in
2021
.
In order to save plastic waste, cotton swabs, cutlery, plates, drinking straws, stirring sticks, plastic balloon sticks as well as beverage cups, fast food packaging and disposable polystyrene containers may not be sold from July 3rd, 2021.
The production of
single-use plastic
would then be prohibited
throughout the
EU.
