The rate of infections with the corona virus in Israel continues to rise today (Wednesday).
Over five percent of the subjects were found positive for the virus this week, while last week the figure was 4.5.
According to data released today by the Ministry of Health, the number of infected people identified yesterday stands at 5,594 people, which is 5.7 percent of the 97,560 respondents.
To date, 2,692 subjects have been identified, which is 5.2 out of 51,691 subjects.
The number of active patients stands at 40,993.

The number of patients hospitalized is 1,046 people, of whom 191 are in moderate condition, 622 are in critical condition, of whom 202 are in critical condition and 162 are respiratory.
The number of staff currently in isolation now stands at 3,682 people including 463 doctors and 945 nurses.
The death toll from the plague is 3,307.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education today published data on Corona virus infection in the education system among kindergarten children, special education students and school students.
According to the data, more than 10,000 students and 2,000 teachers have been infected with the virus and another 60,000 teachers and students are in isolation.
Kindergarten data show that out of 512,555 kindergarten children, 1,560 were found positive for Corona.
This is 3.81% of all those infected in the population, while their share in the general population is 5.61%.
In primary education, out of 1,072,301 students, 4,776 students were found positive for Corona.
This is 11.67% of all those infected in the population, while their share in the general population is 11.74%.
In post-primary education, out of 805,779 students, 4,223 students were found positive for Corona.
This is 10.32% of all those infected in the general population, while their share in the population is 8.82%.
Eight schools out of 5,000 educational institutions were closed due to morbidity (which is 0.16% of all educational institutions).
738 kindergartens out of 21,000 kindergartens (which are 3.5% of all kindergartens) were also closed due to illness.
7,776 positive students for Corona Out of the 10,559 students found positive positive are in localities and areas classified as red and orange, according to the traffic light plan.
This is 73.7% of all Corona-positive students in the education system.
The Ministry of Education stated that in total, there are 10,559 positive students for Corona in the entire education system.
