The earth shakes right in the middle of the MP's speech.
His colleagues in the Slovenian parliament hesitate for a moment - then they leave the plenary chamber, which is sparsely occupied due to the season and the corona, rather quickly.
An earthquake during an ongoing debate recorded by Parliamentary TV cameras.
An extremely rare occurrence.
But the politicians get away with the horror.
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is around 150 kilometers from the epicenter of the 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Croatia. There it caused great damage, especially in the small town of Petrinja, but also in Zagreb, around 50 kilometers away. According to the Croatian government, at least seven people died. Rescue teams are looking for injured people and possible other victims. Several aftershocks caused fear among the people in the affected areas - but there were apparently no other dead or injured.
