A ski vacationer died in an avalanche accident in Switzerland.
According to the police, the 50-year-old went on a ski tour with his wife in the mountains near Hérémence in Valais on Tuesday.
His wife broke off the climb and turned back.
When her husband didn't return by evening, she alerted the authorities.
The rescue service discovered an avalanche around 1.5 kilometers long, but had to break off the search in the evening.
It was not until Wednesday that the man was rescued from under a blanket of snow at a height of around 2900 meters.
