Fausto Gresini, 59, two-time 125cc world champion, who remained in the motorcycling environment as founder and manager of the team that bears his name and which currently rides with Aprilia in MotoGP, has been hospitalized since yesterday at the Maggiore hospital of Bologna to treat complications from Covid-19, which tested positive a few days before Christmas.
The local press reports.
Gresini needed hospitalization on December 27, after his condition worsened, with fatigue that prompted doctors to decide for hospitalization and consequent better care and monitoring. From what was communicated yesterday by his team, Gresini Racing, after being hospitalized for a few days at the Santa Maria della Scaletta hospital in Imola, yesterday the champion was transported to the Maggiore hospital of the Emilian capital, in a ward more equipped for the treatments dedicated to Covid-19.
