(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 03 - The elections in Calabria will take place on 11 April.
"In agreement with the President of the Catanzaro Court of Appeal, and after having heard the President of the Regional Council, the national and local representatives of the various political forces and the councilors of the Regional Council, I take the decision to postpone the consultations for the election to next April 11 of the president of the Region and of the regional councilors of Calabria.
This was stated in a note by the acting president of the Calabria Region, Nino Spirlì.
"The health emergency that will affect the region in the weeks and months to come leads me to take on further responsibility to safeguard the health and safety of the Calabrians. I believe - concludes President Spirlì - that in dramatic moments like this there are no constraints whatsoever that can or must prevent them from being able to decide according to common sense and maturity ".
