(ANSA) - NAPLES, 03 JAN - "The Trial of the Chicago 7" by Aaron Sorkin, on the trial of anti-war activists in Vietnam accused of causing the clashes at the Democratic Convention in August 1968, is the best film of the year for "Capri, Hollywood - The International FilmFestival".
This was announced by the musician and member of the Academy Tony Renis with a Board that includes, among others, the producers Mark Canton and Marina Cicogna, the Oscar winners Bille August, BobbyMoresco, Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo AlessandroBertolazzi, Nick Vallelonga and Gianni Quaranta, Terry Gilliam, Michael Radford and Enrico Vanzina.
Four awards (with the best supporting actor Sacha Baron Cohen) for the film produced by Dreamworks and distributed by Netflix (which overall wins 13 Capri Awards).
Best Director is Chloé Zhao for "Nomadland" starring and co-produced by Frances Mc Dormand.
Best actors are Anthony Hopkins for "The Father" and SophiaLoren for "Life in front of himself" by Edoardo Ponti also awarded for the best non-original screenplay, for the song, "Iosi-Seen" by Diane Warren, Laura Pausini, Nicolò Agliardi, and with the humanitarian prize.
Three awards for David Fincher's "Mank" (including Best Supporting Actress to Amanda Seyfried), Lee Daniels' "The United States vs. Billie Holiday" (including 2020 international producer Tucker Tooley), Gianfranco Rosi's' Notturno ', representing the 'Italy at the Oscars (Best International Film, European Opera of the Year and Italian Producer 2020 - Donatella Palermo).
Two awards for Minari (A24).
In the animation "Soul" (Pixar) triumphs, among the 'technical' prizes honor to Carlo Poggioli for the costumes of "Waiting for TheBarbarians".
