(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 03 - The famous American journalist Larry King has been hospitalized for over a week because of the coronavirus: a source from his family has made it known, according to CNN.

King, 87, is at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and his three children, due to the strict restrictions imposed by the facility, have not yet been able to visit it.

The journalist, historical face of CNN, suffers from diabetes, in the past he had serious heart problems and in 2017 he was operated on for lung cancer.

This year she lost two children, Andy and Chaia, in just over three weeks: the first died of a heart attack on July 28, while the second died on August 20 of lung cancer.

King hosted the Larry King Live talk show on CNN from 1985 to 2010, and currently hosts the Larry King Now program on Hulu and RTA America, as well as Sunday's Politicking with Larry King on the same two online channels.
