In addition to the typical flags that indicate the state of the sea (serene or dangerous), this summer

a new warning sign

is imposed

in Uruguay

.

In some spas, due to the contagion problems that the coronavirus brings, the emblem of the

agglomerations

began to flutter

.

From this Saturday, with the start of the 2021 season, in several lifeguard boxes on Mansa beach in Punta del Este, the insignia of the agglomeration was raised.

It serves to warn future bathers that in that area

there are more people than recommended

and on that beach,

the

adequate

physical distance

between the groups of people

is not being met

.

The new agglomeration flag was released this Saturday in Punta del Este.

Sources from the Municipality of Maldonado indicate that, with this notice, it is intended that

fewer people go down to that beach

so as not to turn the place into a possible source of

Covid-19

contagion

.

In this sense, the Municipality of Maldonado recommends - if you see this indication -

go to another nearby beach

to enjoy the summer with responsibility.

About

280 lifeguards

participate in this prevention task

.

Thus, when they see that social distancing protocols are not respected, they can ask that the public disperse towards other less crowded beaches.

The health recommendation of the authorities is to maintain

at least two meters between each group

of people and that in each circle, the ideal is that

there are no more than six individuals

.

In addition to this measure that is applied nationwide, Maldonado began this Saturday with his campaign "We are taking care of you."

The Intendancy of that department began to work with a group of young people between 18 and 25 years old who visit beaches and parks and ask visitors to respect the measures advised by the authorities.

In addition to the distance, they will be in charge of checking that everyone is wearing their chinstrap.

To avoid conflicts, they point out that these brigades

cannot carry out any inspection

since their tasks are informative.

In case they find a situation in which people do not want to respect the recommendations, they can report it to the authorities.

Few Argentines in sight

After ordering the total closure of its borders to try to contain the rate of coronavirus infections, the Uruguayan authorities receive, on average,

163 requests per day from people who want to enter the country

.

The data comes from the records of the Migration Directorate.

According to the newspaper El Observador, in the first 9 days of the restrictions, that body initiated 1,472 procedures for Uruguayans or residents.

The borders were already closed to foreigners since last March, but on December 21 entry to that country was completely prohibited.

International cargo transport workers and those who have purchased their tickets before December 16 were exempt from the measure.

That is why now the Migration Directorate analyzes each request and prioritizes that of Uruguayan citizens and residents.
