(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 04 - Snow and rain continue to beat on many areas of Italy and the Civil Protection announces that for tomorrow the yellow alert status has been assessed for octoregions, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Molise, Campania and most of Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo and Basilicata.
The notice, informs a note from the Civil Protection, foresees the persistence of snowfall in Piedmont, south-western Lombardy, Ligurian hinterland and western Emilia-Romagna from the early hours of tomorrow, at altitudes on average above 200-500 meters.
Snowfalls are also expected on Lazio, especially in the eastern sectors, and on Tuscany, Abruzzo, Molise at altitudes on average above 700 to 900 meters.
In addition, scattered to diffuse precipitation is expected, also of a reverse or thunderstorm character, on Lazio and Campania.
The phenomena will be accompanied by strong showers, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.
