The restaurants and bars in Miami Beach, Florida, are full.
Tourists and locals stroll tightly across the streets as if there was no global pandemic with millions of deaths.
Florida in particular is a corona hotspot.
Last Sunday alone, 10,603 people in the state were infected with Covid-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.
So far, over 21,000 people have died from and with Corona in Florida.
There is no mask requirement on the crowded streets.
After the first corona wave in spring 2020, Florida was one of the states that fulfilled Trump's wish for the nation to reopen quickly.
Restaurants, bars, sports studios and strip clubs reopened in May, enabling the corona numbers to rise rapidly before local beaches had to be closed again in summer.
At the weekend, the number of corona cases recorded in one day in the USA reached a new, sad high.
On Saturday, the authorities reported almost 300,000 new cases.
But in Florida the partying continues, despite all the numbers.
