Great success on Sunday evening: around 10.5 million viewers followed the TV experiment “Feinde” according to Ferdinand von Schirach.

But there is criticism on the Internet.

Around 10.5 million viewers followed the TV experiment "Enemies".

But was that really such a big success?

After all, the two films on the same topic were shown simultaneously on ARD, all third parties and on One.

As reported, the drama portrayed a kidnapping case from different perspectives - in one film from that of the commissioner (Bjarne Mädel) and in the other from that of the defense attorney (Klaus Maria Brandauer).

The question that arose was whether torture could be a means of getting a suspect to tell the truth.

Disappointed viewers

Some viewers found a little too much attention for a story from two perspectives.

“Synchronization” is even scolded in social networks.

Others express it more factually.

“For the fact that it was announced as larger than life, Schirach's 'Enemies' were very disappointing.

Where was the gain in knowledge now?

It was certainly not so strong that it has to run in all third programs at the same time, ”writes a Twitter user.

Other viewers also criticize the creative implementation: "The second version did not bring the announced different point of view," says a commentator on Twitter.

Another says: "The idea is good with the perspectives, but please make a little more effort that the two parts are not 70 percent the same and that almost nothing comes around ?!"

Comment on the TV experiment “Enemies”: There would have been more!

"Synchronization"?

Please don't use that unspeakable National Socialist term again.

Especially when it doesn't fit as well as in relation to the TV experiment “Feinde”, which ARD, One and all third parties showed in parallel on Sunday.

Nevertheless, some are not too stupid to accuse them of “synchronization”.

Aggressive critics claim that “state television” is operating here at the cost of paying the fee.

The makers of "Feinde" didn't want that.

On the contrary: by telling the story from two perspectives, the aim was to encourage the audience to form their own opinion.

It is true that "Feinde" could only have been broadcast on ARD and One.

Why in all third parties?

Because of the spectacle, of course.

Because you can advertise splendidly with such an "event" in times when there are no events.

In view of the fact that it only lasted 90 minutes twice and that other public broadcasters such as ZDF, Arte and 3sat offered plenty of alternative programs, the one who is hungry for entertainment will have coped with it.

What you can actually criticize is the creative implementation.

Anyone who saw both films dawned on the 45-minute trial part, which only differed in nuances.

More play with the genres, more built-in twists in the chamber play in court - in short: more provocation with regard to the moral conflict that the audience is supposed to face would have been appropriate for a broadcast on all channels.

Potential wasted.

Strong odds

What everyone agrees on is the high quality of the game by Mädel and Brandauer.

“For me as a legal layman, the acting skills of both of them alone is a celebration.

And makes you think.

And it makes it clear how quickly you can put yourself on a supposedly correct page, ”tweeted one.

The lively discussion shows how much ARD was right with the experiment in the end.

And the quota.

“Enemies - Against Time” reached 7.96 million people (21.8 percent) on ARD from 8:15 pm.

2.49 million (6.8 percent) switched to One or the third “Enemies - The Confession”.

In the end, you should take it, as a Twitter woman does in her comment - with humor: “Pro tip: On ZDF you can just see the Von Schirach story again from the perspective of a certain Inga Lindström, the whole thing Mess has not noticed anything. "

The two films and their documentation can be seen here in the ARD media library until April 3.
