Bad weather: snow in the Center-North, yellow alert in 9 regions

 Bad weather gives no respite to much of Italy.

The Civil Protection has in fact confirmed the yellow alert level also for tomorrow in Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Campania, part of Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo, Molise and Basilicata, also extending it to Calabria.

A large depression area with a cold matrix continues to influence the meteorological conditions in Italy, still causing bad weather, with snowfalls on part of the North and on the central-northern Apennine areas, explains a statement from the Civil Protection.


    Snowfalls are expected to continue in Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Tuscany, at altitudes on average above 200-500 meters.

Above 600-800 meters snow is expected in Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Umbria. 

Storms and rain, floods in Fiumicino -

The "Mare Nostrum" area in Focene, on the Fiumicino coast, is once again flooded.

The persistent rain, for hours, interspersed with thunderstorms, has caused the heavy flooding of the roads of the district in the area of ​​the mouth of the Tiber, which has been subject to this problem for some time as strongly reported by local committees.

The residents, exasperated, asked for the intervention of the local civil protection and the carabinieri this morning.

The locality in general, for days, has been under a slap in the face of bad weather also due to strong storms, which have caused flooding inside the internal roads and which are also putting the pump system for the sewerage system at risk, as well as erosion.

'Yellow' alert in Fvg for avalanche risk

- The Civil Protection of Friuli Venezia Giulia has issued a 'yellow' weather alert for avalanche risk for tomorrow.

After the wave of bad weather in recent days, a 'marked' avalanche danger remains - explains the Civil Protection - over the entire Alpine and Prealpine mountain area.

Medium and large avalanches will be possible at all aspects along the usual steep slopes not yet unloaded.

Avalanche phenomena may still affect roads above 900 meters above sea level and the man-made areas most exposed to the danger of avalanches.

According to the weather forecast, today in Fvg generally moderate rainfall and snow above about 300-500 meters are likely.

Tomorrow, rainfall will generally be moderate, more likely on the eastern belt, snow above about 300-500 meters.

On the coast and on the low plain, some showers or thunderstorms are possible.
