Although both in the province of Buenos Aires and in the interior of the country, various jurisdictions announced restrictions on night-time traffic or even dropped the phase, the Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof, and the mayors of the Atlantic Coast agreed not to apply new measures, although they spoke of intensifying the prevention campaign.
"As we have a lower bed occupancy than at that time of the peak, today
we are not in an emergency situation
. The sequence would be to strengthen controls, encourage and ask the population to take care of themselves again in the worst moments," they explained in Press conference.
After the images of crowding and overflows in some Buenos Aires beaches, the Government of the Province published a guide with recommendations to take care of health in these public spaces.
The measures include the use of a mask-nose mask, the minimum distance of two meters and the prohibition of group sports activities.
On the other hand, the Malbrán Institute confirmed the arrival in the country of one of the coronavirus mutations, more precisely the so-called “
Rio de Janeiro variant
”.
In any case, specialists clarified that it is still unknown if this variety is more contagious or if it implies a greater complexity in the clinical picture of the infected.
