(ANSA) - GENEVA, 05 JAN - The WHO team of scientists has left, as planned, for China, to investigate the origins of Covid-19, but without yet having obtained the Beijing vialibera. This was announced by the WHO director, TedrosAdhanom Ghebreyesus, saying he was "very disappointed" by the failure of the Chinese authorities to do so.
"We hope that the authorizations for our expert teams have not yet arrived for logistical reasons. It is very frustrating." This was stated by the WHO emergency chief, Mike Ryan, in the usual briefing on the coronavirus, stressing that the director general spoke with Chinese officials "pressing hard" for permits to be issued as soon as possible.
