Qatari rider Nasser Al Attiyah and Australian Toby Price won the third stage of the Dakar respectively in the car and motorcycle category.
Upon arrival in Wadi ad-Dawasir in southern Saudi Arabia, Al Attiyah was the first to cross the finish line in his Toyota.
In second place went Henk Lategan (Toyota) at 2:27 ". Third with a delay of 4:05" was the French Stéphane Peterhansel.
On the other hand, a bad day for the Spaniard Carlo Sainz: he started very well and for long stretches in the lead, at one point he took the wrong road, and ended up off course with his Mini.
