The original plan - that was when there were still plans, do not judge us - was to establish a permanent section, in the air for each weekend, where all the brunches that Israel has to offer will be reviewed. We were supposed to (again, that was when it was already halfway done) Travel and explore, explore and examine, taste and blossom - and upload to story. This rating bomb was waiting for us on the floor, waiting to be collected.Because of

all the restaurants launched and opened in the years before the virus, the Israeli breakfast world was the only one that boasted green graphs, growing in one direction, evolving and perfecting. From a spacious buffet in the Sharon to a Jerusalem neighborhood that starts to exaggerate when the week starts to end, from a boutique hotel that forgets the boutiques and knocks a buffet, to a restaurant that suddenly discovered what the world looks like before the sun goes down. Food boom, boom of creativity.

The original design has been stored in one of the closets for months. The highest in our kitchen. We too, just like you, can not quite think of a wide dining table with deep bowls and one serving spoon for everyone.Instead, befitting a population with a very developed instinct for survival and entrepreneurship, restaurateurs offer an alternative. What

started as an impromptu drip has recently become For a picnic map inlaid with Shep

Its wines reach almost the entire territory of the country.

Loaded straw baskets, plastic crates and wooden boxes transfer the great Israeli hobby into the houses and gardens every weekend.

It's not exactly the same, but it's the closest there is now.

To the original design, as to any other original design, we will return, we swear.

When the buffet goes out in nature, the "brothers"

Another challah and another wiping.

The Tel Aviv fortress south of Ibn Gvirol routinely maintains a very futuristic booking book when it comes to its weekend brunch.

What began a few years ago as an attempt to test the cool waters of Friday and Saturday mornings soon became an expanding crowd magnet.

And rightly so.

Now, the crowded and familiar tables are driven home in a more limited but no less generous format.

The brothers' picnic basket (NIS 238.90) includes - take a breath - a small Viznich challah, 2 Jerusalem pretzels, a modest but bastard square of spinach quiche and feta cheese, for a thick and wonderful homemade stone with a mixture of nuts, tahini seasoned with ambala and smoothie, unloading salad Veal cauliflower Tired cauliflower, addictive caramelized egg and onion salad, eggplant salad with mayonnaise but not really of the writer, cherry tomato salad with coriander, garlic and hot pepper, salted Arabian gibbon cheese with lots of excellent olive oil for dipping, Syrian olives from Jericho, leafy salad with Roasted hay and pecans in sesame and mustard vinaigrette.

Plus, you’ll find quite a few small jars inside: coriander pesto, delicious herb butter, classic butter for those who don’t want to experiment, homemade smoothie, seasonal jam, and also seasonal fruit (we got a red grapefruit that was, well, more rustic for a meal than a meal), mini Corrupt yeast chocolate pastry, banana muffins and chocolate chips, 2 bites of vegan pecans so corrupt that it was good to name just two bites, homemade granola with Greek yogurt and two small bottles of Pellegrino.

The case, which of course comes with consumable plates and cutlery, requires a little help from the oven (for heating the quiche, say, and the sweet pastries), but you can definitely pick it up and continue straight to your favorite green grass.

A small bite from here and a bigger onslaught from there, another challah and another wiping, and what at first seemed like a couple meal turns out towards the end as a feast for a trio and even more.

Our recommendation: do not forget some alcohol nearby, and the "brothers" would do well to offer some cocktail in their grocery store, or add it with a little addition to this basket.

After all, every sip has been honestly earned here.

When the event begins (and ends) with food, "Petite Food"

Focus on what's important.

"Petit Food" (Photo: Yonatan Ben Haim)

The catering and event empire has watched in recent months in frustration dissipating much of its living space - no more toast levels in pampering high-tech companies, no more elegant weddings and receptions, for example - and reacted with a muscle-strengthening set that hadn’t been activated until those moments.

In other words: all the good and varied and delicious we are used to, in a more homely and intimate configuration, from small double hospitality trays, through a "perfect and small wedding", which embodies a small but not so small event, to a "pampering Saturday brunch", which sees a big gathering More, when possible.

The "regular" brunch package of "Petit Food" (NIS 280) includes three hard plastic trays that are resistant to any shaking, including - take a breath, you get the point - a collection of savory and sweet breakfast pastries (chunky pies, for example, and boraxes the size of a perfect bite) , "French" goat toast with egg and roasted mushrooms, quinoa crunchy salad, fresh green tabula salad with couscous, classic Nisswaz salad, eggplant and tahini tapas (because you can't do without), thick and sour zucchini with black lentils, baked beet salad and onions Sweet, colorful vegetables cut and ready to snack, a plate of breakfast cheeses with gouda, emmental, soft berries and manchego, very chocolate brownies, butter cookies and small bites of cheesecake, which were very surprising in quality.

The package, which comes with tools that immediately sent us fantasizing about classic finger-food trays, will easily suffice for 3-4 morning starvings.

Here, too, the oven will help return some of the pastries to the desired crispiness, but this is definitely not a mandatory requirement, certainly not when the trays are wide open, the forks are pulled out and the hands begin to explore.

If you ask us at this point exactly, even the big weddings can be abandoned by the wayside, and focus on what matters.

When a dream of food comes true, "Itamar Deli"

Instant Instagram fame is just the beginning (Photo: Gal Slonimski)

Itamar Ben Zaken's old childhood dream has received a slight corona kick forward in recent months.

A nightlife man, DJ and bar events manager became a full-time food man, "Itamar Deli" was born, and we made a profit.

The deli offers a variety of trays - built-in or self-assembled, starting at NIS 109 - that include cheeses, sourdough breads and baguettes, vegetables, fruits and delicacies like stuffed grape leaves, olives and what is called here "Itamar's secrets", and we can reveal as colorful macaroons, Spectacular tartlets and tarts, stuffed with cheeses and spreads.

The pink, beautifully designed and photogenic package that came to us at all - apart from instant Instagram fame - cheeses like gouda, kashkabal and cheddar, vegetables and fruits, olives, nuts, two soft and warm baguettes and some tasting of those "secrets" - pistachio macaroon stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and fig jam, Lemon macaroon stuffed with goat cheese and amerna sauce, as well as a berry tartlet with dried figs and reduced balsamic.

The flashes were over, the tastings began, and it could be said very quickly that the tray lived up to expectations.

The carbohydrates served as an excellent substrate for the absorption of the spreads, the cheeses spread a relatively prestigious foreign sex appeal, the vegetables and fruits were refreshed and the olives and nuts also went great in celebration. Above them all shone truffle butter that stopped the world and the plague for one long bite. Itamar's secret warehouse worked less for us, and provided a slightly salty-sweet bite that was too extreme for our taste. The

deli, which was born "thanks to" a global epidemic, did not need any adjustment, due to the circumstances. Its trays already speak the spirit of the time. Homemade or on a light picnic blanket. They will suit a couple looking for some romance (and a pile of lap-overs to take home) and also a trio or quartet looking for light snacks.Combining a fun bottle of wine (for a fee of course) will also close the only corner that remains open. And another container of truffle butter. For
