In front of a crowd of supporters gathered in Washington, Donald Trump said he would "never" concede defeat, while Democrat Joe Biden is due to take office in two weeks.
"We won this election, and we won it largely," he insisted, despite the absence of evidence supporting the hypothesis of electoral fraud.
He called on Mike Pence not to endorse Joe Biden's victory in a special session in Congress, before calling Republicans who “turned a blind eye” “weak” and “pathetic”.
"If Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election," he added, hinting that he doubted the attitude of his vice president.
The latter is due to chair a joint session of Congress intended to formally record the vote of the voters in favor of Joe Biden.
