Very rare quadruplets were born at the Augsburg University Hospital.
The four boys saw the light of day by caesarean section in November, two months before the calculated due date, as the university hospital announced.
The babies with a birth weight of more than 1300 grams each are healthy and have been breathing independently from the start.
As a precaution, all four came to the premature baby intensive care unit because of the premature birth, which they have since left.
At the moment, Leon, Luis, Aron and Ben are still on the monitoring station at the Augsburg Children's Hospital.
Parents come every day to cuddle and change their children.
The birth of quadruplets without prior fertility therapy is extremely rare.
Experts estimate that only one in 600,000 births is a quadruplet.

"
Of course we were happy - it's like one or four little miracles,
"
she explained.

But we were also a little worried about how to do it.

An interdisciplinary team of more than 20 doctors and nurses was in the operating room during the delivery.
When the children were born, two doctors and two pediatric nurses each looked after a child.
Although multiples are still very rare, the proportion of twins, triplets and quadruplets in Germany has increased significantly over the past four decades.
According to the Federal Statistical Office, multiple births have more than doubled.
In 2020, every 27th newborn was a multiple child.
