extend the corona lockdown
and tighten it further.

until the end of the week

Berlin and Rhineland Palatinate are taking a separate route by extending the current lockdown including tightened contact restrictions, but not applying the 15-kilometer rule.
The disagreement is not only reflected in the individual countries, it is also evident along the party lines.
"The restrictions on freedom decided yesterday are unfortunately often
not proportionate
, but they are also
not practical
, and in some cases they even lead to inhumane results," criticized Christian Lindner, chairman of the FDP.
The federal government defended the approach with regard to
high numbers of infections
: It is a matter of restricting contacts "to the absolute minimum", said Vice-Government Spokeswoman Ulrike Demmer.
"And at the same time it should be ensured that nobody has to stay all alone."
We must continue to be smart about the virus for the next few months.
What we need is patience, consideration and understanding.
The more intense the lockdown, the more sustainable and effective it can be.
We must not do the most convenient now, but must do what is decisive.
