Elon Musk
, owner of the companies Tesla and Space X, has just surpassed
Jeff Bezos
, owner of the multinational Amazon, as the richest man in the world, since he had held it since 2017.
It was during 2020 that Musk's fortune began to grow very quickly, placing him on the list of the most wealthy men in history.
The achievement is amazing, because 18 months before the headlines of the financial portals reported that the businessman was losing and losing money with the Tesla company.
In January of last year Elon's fortune was estimated at 27,000 million and he was among the 50 richest on the planet, but little by little he was on the rise.
In July he surpassed
Warren Buffett
, and in November he surpassed
Bill Gates
, the second place on the list.
As a curious fact, it will remain for history that in just 12 months the owner of Space X made more money than all the assets of the founder of Microsoft.

It was just the company with which he was losing money, Tesla, that rose to the top, as its share price began to skyrocket and its price increased ninefold last year.
Thanks to that and his generous salary package, he has added $ 150 billion to his fortune, and now his net worth stands at $ 185 billion.
Tesla is a company dedicated to the manufacture of high-end electric and autonomous cars.
Currently the price of its shares is around $ 800.
Despite this, its sales are still below the big auto companies.
In all of 2020 the company sold 499,550 cars, which is well below the 11 million vehicles that Volkswagen sold in 2019.
However, that does not affect optimism in investors, who consider that the future of cars is in the Tesla model and because in five consecutive quarters it has managed to generate profits.
Jeff Bezos lives the opposite case, since Amazon's shares are at a low level due to attempts at greater regulation of its sales strategies by the United States government.
Even so, 2020 was not a bad year for Amazon since, despite the pandemic, which has dealt a severe blow to the global economy, Bezos generated profits of 72.7 billion, which meant a growth of 63%.
Jeff Bezos owns 11% of Amazon, in 2019 he had 16% but had to give 4% of his stake to his ex-wife
MacKenzie
Scott
after their divorce.
