- The seventh General Census of Agriculture starts today, 7 January 2021, a survey that will involve over one million and 700 thousand companies in the sector and will aim to provide an in-depth statistical overview, at national, regional and local level, of our system agricultural and livestock.
This was announced by Istat in specifying that the survey, to the design of which Mipaaf, the Regions, the Autonomous Provinces, Agea, the main bodies in the sector and the major professional trade organizations have contributed, will end on 30 June. 2021.
This is, continues the Institute of Statistics, the last ten-year appointment with the General Census of Agriculture, a survey that from 2022 will become permanent.
With this edition the paper questionnaire also disappears and becomes completely digitized.
On the occasion, an information focus will also assess the impact of Covid 19 on companies in the sector.
Information on the outcome of the collection will be provided in the autumn, while it will be necessary to wait until spring 2022 for the final dissemination of the data.
