(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 07 - Persona by Marracash is the best-selling album of 2020, followed by Famoso by Sfera Ebbasta and then by 236451 by tha Supreme, according to the annual Top Of TheMusic Fimi / GfK ranking (which covers the period from 27 December 2019 to 31 December 2020).
It is a top ten entirely Italian for the first time in years, which crosses generations ranging from classic pop to trap, but which features 4 albums released in 2019, including the first in the charts, a sign of the lockdowns and forced stops of these months.
The singles ranking is more international, however, dominated by an entirely national summer podium: it is in fact Karaoke by Boomdabash & Alessandra Amoroso to conquer the first place.
The second position belongs to Rocco Hunt & Ana Menacon A un passo dal luna, followed by Mediterranea di Irama.
Pink Floyd's evergreen, The dark side of the moon, remains first in the Vinyl chart, the most eclectic of past titles and new releases.
In second place is Famoso di SferaEbbasta, while the AC / DC Power up podium closes.
According to GfK data, premium streaming dominated the market this year with a growth of 31.8%, while free was up 9%.
In the last weeks of 2020, in general, the streaming reached almost one billion plays per week: a historical record.
The lockdown - and the relative closure of many businesses, together with the absence of an instore - has slowed down the physique, already in difficulty, which after months of decline (reaching up to 70% of sales) closes with -27.8%.
