Jean Castex confirmed this Thursday that these places, now closed for several months, will not reopen in January as an initial

No clearings for restaurants, cinemas, theaters and sports facilities at the moment.

This Thursday, January 7, was set the date for the review clause set by the government to take stock of the development of the epidemic in France.

Prime Minister Jean Castex announced during his press conference that he was therefore postponing the opening of restaurants and bars to “mid-February” at the earliest, given the epidemic figures which are still not reassuring. .

“Museums, cinemas, theaters, theaters, sports and leisure facilities will not experience any relaxation in the coming weeks,” added the Prime Minister.

According to government sources obtained by RTL on Monday, the executive had already taken the decision not to reopen the restaurants on Wednesday, January 20 and to let them close for several more weeks, although the epidemic fallout following the end-of-year celebrations are not yet known.

Restaurants and stockings will not reopen before "mid-February"

While non-essential shops reopened their doors on November 28, "bars and restaurants will remain closed until January 20, 2021", announced the tenant of Matignon at the end of November, because they are "places of high viral contamination" .

Their reopening was then conditioned on "the number of contaminations which remains below 5,000 cases per day", then specified the Head of State Emmanuel Macron, in his last speech.

But we are now around the triple, at 15,000 cases per day.

Little consolation for restaurant owners and bar owners, the government has announced that the aid measures will be extended as long as necessary.

Cultural venues will potentially reopen "early February"

For their part, those in charge of cultural venues, cinemas, theaters, museums and performance halls were also beginning to find a reason, but they had not however completely given up hope of a reopening in early or mid-January.

This will therefore not be the case, since Jean Castex is now not considering a recovery before "early February".

As for the restaurants, a situation update will take place on January 20.
