Urs Fischer, the Zurich resident of New York, 47, star artist of the international contemporary scene, brings his crazy freedom to the bespoke world of Louis Vuitton.
From this new collaboration was born a multifaceted collection which resembles him by this mixture of precious and dissenting, precise and fiery: leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, windows, installations and unpublished digital content, to which he has assigned three colors, red, black, white.
Under his artistry, the famous Louis Vuitton Monogram is reinterpreted as a sketch, a sketch in motion.
"Why would you want something written on a bag?"
This question intrigued me when I was a child in Zurich
, he said with a burst of laughter.
The continuity of this Monogram, designed to avoid copies, has built over the years a form of identity, an astonishing familiarity that is imprinted in the collective memory.
