The girl had no previous illnesses: In the case of little Greta from Viersen, an appraiser confirmed the suspicion against a teacher. The child's breath was pulled.

In the process of the death of daycare child Greta in Viersen on the Lower Rhine, a forensic doctor presented her report.

After that, the autopsy did not reveal any evidence of serious previous illnesses in the girl, such as circulatory disorders and organ damage, poisoning or sudden cardiac death.

Therefore, there is only a mechanical cause for the serious lack of oxygen in question, said the doctor at the Mönchengladbach regional court.

Since mid-November, a 25-year-old educator from Geldern on the Lower Rhine has had to answer for murder in the process.

The prosecution accuses Greta of exhausting the air so massively that the girl died almost two weeks later from the effects of the lack of oxygen in a daycare center in Viersen on April 21st.

The other victims survived the attacks

Greta had "no external injury findings," said the forensic doctor.

"So you can't say what exactly caused the respiratory failure." She assumes that Greta either compressed her chest or suffocated her.

According to the expert, there were also indications of deliberately induced attacks of suffocation in the three other toddlers whom the educator allegedly abused in the same way in other daycare centers.

Unlike Greta, they had survived the attacks.

During the examination of Greta, the treating chief physician of the Viersen clinic discovered severe punctiform hemorrhages (petechiae) on her eyelids as an indication of violent asphyxiation and notified the police.

The forensic doctor considers the presumption of the defense lawyers that they were created during the resuscitation by the emergency doctor to be unlikely.

She is not aware of any such case.

The motive for the acts is so far unclear.

At the start of the trial, the defendant had denied all allegations through her defense lawyers.

The trial is scheduled to continue on January 12th.

Then the police officers who had questioned the accused are supposed to testify.

The psychiatric expert should then give her opinion.
