The Ministry of Health of the Nation confirmed this Friday

another 151 deaths and 13,346 new cases

of coronavirus in the country.

The usual daily part of the sanitary portfolio was known hours after the publication of the presidential decree that recommends prohibiting night-time traffic and that each jurisdiction must decide whether to comply or not.

Earlier, the Secretary of Access to Health,

Carla Vizzotti

, acknowledged that since mid-December there has been "an arrest in the decrease in infections" and currently there is a

growth in cases

linked to the greater circulation of people and the relaxation of prevention measures.

"When we see the map of reports of cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the most important number is in Europe and the United States," explained the official, adding that "in the region of the Americas and our country there is also an increase of cases ".

When providing the weekly epidemiological report, the official said that the list of countries with the most infections is headed by the United States and continues with India, Brazil, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Colombia, Argentina and Turkey.

He also indicated that the global fatality due to Covid-19 is 2.2% and that of the Americas is 2.4%, and stated that the region contributes 42.9% of global cases.

Regarding the evolution of the contagion curves, Vizzotti specified that "in Europe, in April, there was an increase in the peak that they had managed to decrease, so the second wave far exceeded the number of cases that for now have not they manage to control. "

"In the other regions, like ours, it was very different and we see that in Argentina the epidemic curve from August had a sustained decline until December 14, where we see the arrest in the decrease in chaos and growth linked to the increase from the movement of people, to more activities and the relaxation of prevention measures, "he explained.

Finally, the official of the national health portfolio recalled the need to

maintain care

and "try to slow down" the increase in cases in the provinces to favor the access of the population most at risk to vaccination and "to be able to have that impact that we seek , which is to reduce mortality and morbidity in Argentina due to Sars-Cov 2 ".

"We have the immense strength of having the Anlis-Malbrán and all its professionals to have that genomic surveillance that allows us to know the variants that circulate and to continue recommending care until we can have more vaccinated people and we can minimize the impact of the pandemic, "he concluded.
