Next week, the immunization campaign for Corona "giving a shoulder" is expected to escalate, when the second dose of the vaccine will begin for medical staff, citizens and teachers.
The operation to vaccinate teaching staff will be called "Shoulder for Education," and the Ministry of Health has asked the HMOs to prepare for it.
It is estimated that Pfizer's vaccines will arrive at the HMOs as early as Tuesday, and that a rapid vaccination campaign will begin the next day with the aim of completing all the packages by Friday.
The Ministry of Health sees next week, when the number of vaccinated people in the second dose will be relatively low, as a "window of opportunity" to complete the teachers' vaccination.
The Ministry of Education will transfer ID numbers of teaching staff to the Ministry of Health and the HMOs so that they can be summoned for the vaccine.
Most likely, special education teachers will get priority.
To date, about 20% of the Israeli population has been vaccinated - as well as 70% of those aged 60 and over.
In a health assessment of the Ministry of Health that took place over the weekend, point to an encouraging statistic that there is a decline in the national doubling ratio of morbidity and it may be related to the vaccine.
It was also noted that the scope of vaccines for those aged 60 and over has dropped from 67% to 60% and that further efforts are needed to vaccinate this population.
Other transparent hospital challenges will be the vaccination of severely chronic patients (dialysis patients and transplant recipients) who have not yet been vaccinated, as well as the vaccine of those aged 60 and over who have not yet been vaccinated, with an emphasis on the Arab sector, which is three times lower than in the general sector.
The Ministry of Health will allocate additional vaccines to the HMOs for these groups.
