In the Russian Arctic, three people were killed in a night avalanche in a ski resort.
The bodies of a 38-year-old woman, her one-and-a-half-year-old child and her 45-year-old husband were found under the snow masses not far from the city of Norilsk, the Russian investigative authorities said on Saturday.
A 14-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
The investigators initially left open whether the victims were a family.
The accident occurred shortly after midnight (local time) on Saturday night in a ski resort northeast of Norilsk.
The avalanche buried four buildings.
According to one helper, there was only a family of four in the facility at the time of the avalanche.
It was the family of the ski lift technical keeper.
242 rescuers and 29 machines were deployed during the rescue work.
The authorities opened investigations into violations of safety regulations and negligent homicide.
