Love to dress nicely for dinner?

It may make you eat healthier.

This was revealed by a recent study at a university in southern China and tried to prove the claim that people who dress in more formal attire will choose healthier food than people who wear jeans and a T-shirt who are more likely to prefer eating less healthy food.

To prove this claim, 79 students were divided into two groups - a group of people who wore business suits and those who wore jeans.

They were asked to choose between fries and cherries and tomatoes as their afternoon snack.

Nearly half of the people who were dressed in fancy and formal attire refused food at all, while only 2 percent of them chose to eat French fries.

On the other hand, almost 40 percent of those who wore jeans ate both snacks and a quarter of them ate only French fries.

In another experiment, 277 people were divided according to their style of dress and were asked to choose between almond snacks and chips at the supermarket.

Two-thirds of those who wore the suit preferred healthy snacks compared to half of those who wore jeans.

Another study conducted included 288 respondents who were asked about their eating habits depending on the type of clothing they wear.

The study found that formal attire increases self-esteem and leads to eating healthier food.

The study found that regular and more casual clothing, leads us to appreciate more comfort and relaxation, so it makes us choose "tastier" and less healthy food.

The Chinese study claims that students who wore a suit and tie felt more restrained and self-controlled as a result of eating healthier food.
