It must have been in the spring of 1985, the princess no longer knows exactly, when Bob Colacello, Andy Warhol's right-hand man for many years and author of the magazine “Vanity Fair”, set off from New York to Regensburg.
He wanted to visit the 25-year-old Princess TNT, as he called her, in her castle.
TNT stood for Thurn and Taxis on the one hand, and for the explosive of the same name on the other.
Word had got around in New York that "a new star is emerging on the international jet set circuit," as Colacello later wrote.
He had already accompanied Gloria von Thurn und Taxis to the fashion shows in Paris and had been to a dinner party with her in New York when he finally attended one of the As Colacello wrote, 500 rooms of St. Emmeram Castle sat at lunch.
Then he and Gloria visited Albert II, then one year old, heir and current head of the family, in his children's room, which Colacello noted was larger than the new apartment of the New York socialite Susan Gutfreund.
