An Afghan journalist, spokesman for the country's Public Protection Forces (NPPF), Zia Wadan, was killed this morning along with two colleagues in Kabul by a bomb that targeted their vehicle.

The murder of Aunt Wadan, who previously worked for various media, appears to be the latest in a series of targeted assassinations that are rocking Afghanistan, particularly the capital Kabul where journalists, politicians and rights activists are have been increasingly targeted despite the peace talks between the government and the Taliban.
Wadan and his colleagues were killed in rush hour morning traffic in an eastern part of the capital.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack, but President Ashraf Ghani blamed the Taliban for it.
"The peak of violence by the Taliban is against the commitment to peace and indicates that the group still pursues its hawkish stance in taking innocent lives and damaging public facilities," the presidential palace said on Twitter, quoting Ghani. .
The National Public Protection Force (NPPF) is a security service under the interior ministry that deploys guards to international organizations across Afghanistan.
