ROBERTA DAMIATA, 'COCO CHANEL - UNIQUE AND IRREPLACEABLE' (STORIE DIARKOS NECKLACE, pp. 304, 18 euros)

"If you were born without wings, never do anything to stop them from growing" Coco Chanel repeated to those who wanted to encourage.

This, after all, was his mantra, the motto of a life of successes that began by climbing from the bottom of the steps.

The loves, the passions, the secrets of a woman who changed women's fashion forever in the first decades of the last century, are told by Roberta Damiata in her new biographical book entitled Coco Chanel - Unique and irreplaceable, coming out on the occasion of the 50's years after the iconic designer's death on 10 January 1971.

Despite the stories, biographies and films about her life, Gabrielle Chanel, known as Coco Chanel, still remains a mystery.

A woman born very poor, orphaned and resurrected to life, to become the first great influencer in history and the legendary designer who revolutionized the world of fashion.

An intelligent woman, who has managed to remain a mystery even many years after her death.

This new biography tries to investigate the folds of her life, bringing to light new revelations about the private Coco Chanel, her great loves, her passions that also embraced the female world and her immense pains.

At a time when war was setting the world on fire, she pushed her genius even outside the doors of her studio to be contaminated by Nazi ideas.

Her life seen from the seventh floor of the Ritz hotel in Paris amidst inseparable cigarettes, wispy models, iconic dresses and young lovers.

All the scent of an era in a story that resembles a novel with strong nuances that mixes dream creations, international intrigues and unimaginable truths about a slender woman who had the world in her hands and who still continues with her myth to influence entire generations.

Roberta Damiata is a journalist born in Palermo, but transplanted to Rome, director of gossip magazines such as Eva3000, Cronaca (Scomparsi) and Moda (Vision 2.0).
