Operation "Returning to Life":

Health Minister Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein today (Sunday) held a situation assessment with senior officials of his ministry, noting that "by the end of March we will be able to vaccinate about five million citizens in the first dose."

The Minister instructed the ministry staff to check the possibility of vaccinations even at night to allow for vaccination as quickly as possible.

This is in light of the landing of significant amounts of vaccines in the coming days.

Another Pfizer shipment is expected to arrive today.

Ministry officials presented to the minister the priorities set as well as the vaccination campaign of the teaching staffs scheduled to take place on Wednesday-Friday this week.

To date, we have vaccinated 1,817,000 people in the first dose.

Data from the Ministry of Health show that more than 72% of those aged 60 and over in Israel have already been vaccinated.

This is 81% of people aged 79-70 and 76% of citizens over the age of 80.

The Minister of Health emphasized that even as the vaccines are opened to other populations, he asks that preference be given to those who come to be vaccinated at advanced ages.

"We are in staggering numbers of more than 72 percent of adults. This figure should spur us even further to continue giving priority to them, understanding that they are the population at risk," Edelstein said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health published a segmentation of the number of vaccinators by age and locality.
