(ANSA) - MILAN, 10 JAN - A homeless man, as reported by the police, set himself on fire with a gasoline, in the underpass near the Milan Central Station, which connects via Sammartini and via Ferrante Aporti, and reported a series of burns all over the body.

The episode took place around 4 in the morning.

The homeless man was brought under serious conditions to Fatebenefratelli and is hospitalized in a reserved prognosis.

The agents intervened on the spot, as well as the ambulance.

A witness reportedly saw the man, not yet identified but apparently of foreign origin, set himself on fire.

According to police reports, the 50-year-old is not in danger of life.
