Gualtieri: 'Ready budget gap of 24 billion'. Di Maio: 'Immediate relief to those who have had decreases in turnover' (ANSA)

Accelerate the budget gap in order to proceed as soon as possible with the new refreshment decree

.

The Government is united on the urgency of new economic support to the productive fabric, to face the need to continue with the restrictive measures for the pandemic.

And at least on this chapter the fibrillating majority finds a convergence, with Italia Viva securing its vote.

The new deviation, which as announced by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will be brought to the Council of Ministers this week,

will be worth more than the 20 billion assumed so far

.

"We are evaluating an intervention from a point and a half of GDP", explains the Minister of the Economy

Roberto Gualtieri

in an interview with Corriere: that is, about 24 billion, "of which about one and a half billion" for vaccines, specifies the minister, underlining that the new provision will not only include refreshments, but also "more than three billion additional" for Health.

The refinancing of the cig and further measures for workers and companies will also arrive in the new dl, announces the minister of labor Nunzia Catalfo.

The executive's goal is to do it quickly.

First there is a "crucial" step in the Recovery Plan, but then it's up to the deviation and new decree on refreshments, "indispensable and urgent", warns Gualtieri.

"Refreshments must be approved immediately for the self-employed, entrepreneurs, traders and all those who have had a significant drop in turnover due to the covid" and this "we must do with the next budget variance", urges foreign minister Luigi Di Maio.

Deviation on which it is necessary "to accelerate and close by the end of the month, to give new support to businesses", says the Deputy Minister of Economy Laura Castelli, inviting them not to waste time with "pseudo crisis".

And an appeal in this sense also comes from the minister for relations with the Parliament Federico D'Incà, who asks for facts, "instead of wasting precious time in resolving incomprehensible and outdated political disputes": we need "a new budget gap" and "as soon as possible".

An urgency also shared by Italia Viva, which instead keeps the tension high on the Recovery (the text could arrive tomorrow evening).

The promise on the refreshments "must be kept without ifs and buts", says the president of the senators of Iv Davide Faraone, asking the government "to quickly present the measure of deviation in parliament: Italia Viva will not miss its vote as always" .
