A first assessment, two weeks after the launch of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in France.

The Directorate General of Health (DGS) announces that 138,351 people were vaccinated between December 26 and Monday, in a press release.

The vaccinated people, according to the health authority, are the public defined as "priority", either the elderly in nursing homes or in long-term care units, caregivers, firefighters, home helpers over 50 or with co-morbidities, as well as vulnerable disabled people cared for in foster homes and nursing homes.

It was in Île-de-France that there were the most vaccinated, with a total of 30,248 people affected on Monday.

Next comes Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with 18,841 people vaccinated, and the Occitanie region, with 12,582 people vaccinated.

From January 18, vaccination "will open to all people over 75 years", recalls the Directorate General of Health.

The government plans to open 500 vaccination centers by the end of the month, to reach one million vaccinations by the same deadline.

To achieve this goal, Olivier Véran announced last week the possibility of postponing the vaccination booster for up to six weeks.
