Hyundai could be the automotive partner to support Apple in the project of its first high-tech electric car, previously known as Project Titan.

As reported by the specialized magazine Autoevolution, the news was initially spread by the Korean website Hankyung, which had taken up the 'rumors' about a productive collaboration and then also passed on the news of the Korea Economic television channel.

The novelty in the story is that after the Hankyung article it was Hyundai itself who gave an official confirmation which, in the first draft, read: "We are aware that Apple is in discussion with several global car manufacturers, including Hyundai Motor. Since the negotiation is in the initial phase, nothing has been decided ".

This statement, quite surprising, however - according to Autoevolution - contrasted with Apple's confidentiality code.

So Hyundai, shortly after sending it to the media, revised the communiqué it became (by making the Apple name disappear) "We have received requests for potential collaboration from various companies regarding the development of autonomous electric vehicles. They were not taken. decisions as discussions are in the early stage ".

According to other sources, the scope of a possible agreement would be wider, and of the 'win win' genre where both partners have a lot to gain.

The Hyundai Group, also through its Mobis division - specialized in high tech components - could help Apple in making an electric car, partially or completely autonomous, with greater ease than other partners.

.

But the Cupertino company would be instrumental in supporting Hyundai in the construction of new generation battery factories in the US and Korea.
