(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 11 - Setting the minimum wage at 8 euros per hour, net of the thirteenth and severance pay, there would be a greater disposable income for workers (balance of higher salaries and higher taxes and contributions) of approximately € 3.3 billion. This was stated by the president of INPS, PasqualeTridico, in a hearing in the Senate explaining that for businesses it would be an increase in gross wages of 4.6 billion. The workers involved would be 13.8% of the total of private employees. The introduction of the Tridico minimum-second wage would reduce inequalities and should not lead to a reduction in employment as has not happened in Germany. The greater burden for businesses (6.17 billion the cost of additional labor including social workers) would be transferred for the most part to consumers. (HANDLE).
