(ANSA) - NEW YORK, JAN 11 - Donald Trump leaves a new poisoned meatball to his successor Joe Biden: Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced that the United States has placed Cuba on the list of sponsoring countries of terrorism, a restricted club that includes Syria, Iran and North Korea.
Havana's reaction was immediate, which "condemned the political opportunism" of Washington's decision which delegated Cuba in "a cynical and hypocritical definition".
Trump's decision, made "for having Cuba repeatedly provided support to acts of international terrorism by guaranteeing a safe haven for terrorists", revokes a measure taken in 2015 by the Obama administration in the context of the thaw towards its former Cold War adversary. (HANDLE).
